Celtics to Honor Gorman in Last Regular-Season Game

A Celtics Legend

Honoring a Legacy

The Boston Celtics will honor legendary play-by-play announcer Mike Gorman in their final regular-season game of the 2022-23 season. Gorman has been the voice of the Celtics for over 40 years, and his retirement will mark the end of an era for the franchise. The Celtics will hold a special ceremony for Gorman at the TD Garden before their game against the Brooklyn Nets on April 13, 2023.

Gorman has been a beloved figure in the Boston sports community for decades. He is known for his passionate and knowledgeable commentary, as well as his trademark catchphrases. Gorman has won numerous awards for his work, including the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame's Curt Gowdy Media Award in 2018.

The Celtics are expected to give Gorman a proper send-off in his final game. The team will likely retire his jersey number and unveil a statue of him outside the TD Garden. Gorman will also receive a standing ovation from the sellout crowd.
