Commonly Used Stems

The RP25513 kit includes the RP24096 stem unit assembly, plus a quarter-turn stop. These three stem unit assemblies (RP25513, RP24096, and RP1740) are the most commonly used, especially for faucets manufactured prior to 2015.

RP1740 Stem Assembly

The RP1740 stem unit assembly is very common for two-handle faucets. It has a plastic stem and is best used with knob handles.

RP24096 Stem Assembly

The RP24096 stem assembly is interchangeable with the RP1740, but has a brass stem instead of a plastic one. It is recommended for lever handles.

RP4993 Seat

Both the RP1740 and RP24096 stems use the RP4993 seat. If your faucet is leaking, replacing the seat may resolve the issue.
